All drivers can suffer a breakdown and, when repairing it, the debate arises between buying a new part or resorting to the scrapyard. The latter are much cheaper than new ones, but there are still some drivers who are reluctant to use them. If you are one of them, you should know that today’s cars are almost entirely recyclable and the parts available at the scrapyard are identical to the original ones.
What parts can you buy in a scrapyard?
Actually, we can buy any part for the car in a scrapyard: from wheels to headlights, through engine parts, mirrors, bumpers, fenders…
They are versatile parts, which adapt to all vehicle models and which still have a long useful life left; even if, due to all kinds of circumstances, the vehicle to which they belonged is no longer in circulation and is in the scrapyard.
How much can you save by buying parts from the scrapyard?
And we come to the question that every driver asks himself: how much can I save, buying the parts at the scrapyard, instead of requesting the original spare part from the factory? We estimate that the savings range between 20% and 80%, a percentage that should be taken into account when it comes to repairing your vehicle.
Remember that you will have to add VAT and labor, so a saving on parts is appreciated.
Of course, you should always go to legal scrapyards and avoid the clandestine ones, where we will have no guarantee of the origin of the parts they sell us; although, sometimes, they are cheaper than the conventional ones. Only in authorized centers (C.A.T), such as Desguaces El Malagueño, you will be able to acquire these parts.
